I never thought anyone would need it. I find the .tar.gz better.
BTW, what is the problem with Python 2.4? Was the RPM built for a different version? The upcoming 0.14 release will be based on Python 2.5 but we keep the compatibility with 2.4 (we dropped 2.3).
