Good advice.
One caution is that I wrote the Everyday quite a while ago, certainly way before 1.5.0, and I suspect the set of best commands and best ways to do what these sections demonstrate to do may have changed. I do not think old ways stopped working (that would be a regression), but there would be better ways invented after the document was last updated.
