OK, it seems that you haven't pushed out the result yet (which is fine); how do we want to proceed?

I generally prefer pulling from maintainer trees directly to my 'master' without staging them in 'next', so when the above is done and you feel the tip of your tree is good for 1.7.12-rc1 without regression, please throw me a "pull, now!".
