Sorry, that was a bogus trace with some old stuff in it.
The real profile was this one.

which matches the rest of my emails.. (the "73%" is actually really supposed to be about 95%, but I had X running and doing stuff at the same time, so it was only 73% of all the other CPU activity that was going on over the time I profiled).
