(Outreachy) Introduction and plan to start work on “Reduce Git’s global state” project

Hello Everyone,

My name is Queen Ediri Jessa, and I’m an Outreachy applicant interested in the project “Refactor in order to reduce Git’s global state.”

I’ve gone through the “MyFirstContribution” guide and explored the codebase. As a starting point, I plan to work on a small refactor that replaces a direct use of the `the_repository` global variable with a function parameter (`struct repository *repo`) in one of the related source files.

This will help me get familiar with Git’s development workflow and contribute incrementally toward reducing global state. Please let me know if anyone is already working on a similar change, or if there’s a specific file you’d recommend I start from.
