I used asciidoc too but it was really PITA to install and use so I wrote a small tool (ttman) in C which converts .txt files directly to man pages. It doesn't have html support but you could use man2html for that. Unfortunately it does not format as pretty html as asciidoc.

It might be quite easy to extend ttman to output html too...
