Thanks. I am on it. valgrind finds an earlier place in xdl_change_compact() which I think is rather more sensible, but at the same time a bit worrisome, too, as I did not expect any errors _that_ late in the game (I did not touch that code).
BTW the "-p" is not necessary with "show", indeed, you cannot even switch it off.
