GSoC for 2024 is already over, and we have not yet started to think about GSoC 2025. So while you are of course free to start working on any of the microprojects and contribute to Git, this would not be in the context of GSoC for now. You should keep an eye on the mailing list and on official announcements made by Google to learn when the next set of GSoC projects will be announced.
