Well if people really don't want it to change they'd speak up (like you did), otherwise things will change and as you seem to suggest the majority will be pissed off.

IMHO it's more like the majority don't really care. Anyway, offering a "--reverse" patch off by default would please everyone, I'll see what I can do.
