Using fromcvs/togit

Hi,
  I am trying to use fromcvs/togit, however it keeps reporting message such as:

fatal: Not a valid object name ... fatal: Not a valid object name refs/heads/mathieu fatal: Not a valid object name refs/heads/master

  What does those errors refer to ?
