Thanks Junio thats the problem my path isn't being set correctly on newberry
[ram@skymoo ram]$ ssh newberry sh -c 'echo $PATH'
[ram@skymoo ram]$ ssh newberry [ram@newberry ram]$ which git-receive-pack ~/opt/git/bin/git-receive-pack [ram@newberry ram]$
