Depending on the size and number of the files, git may handle them just fine. They don't delta well, which means they will bloat your object db a bit, but if you are talking about a hundreds of megabytes total, it is probably not that big a deal.

No idea. This is still in the discussion and experimenting stage. It may not even happen.
