   follows as a reply to PATCH 1/4. ]

This patch series improves initialization of a repository and adds some tests for core.ignorecase. It should be applied on top of lt/case- insensitive.

     1/4 was proposed some time ago as

     but did not make it into Junio's next.

     2-4/4 add some tests.
