Hi:
"git branch -r -D -- origin/master" shows
  "Deleted remote branch origin/master (was xxxxxxx)."
Suppose the message should be
  "Deleted remote-tracking branch origin/master (was xxxxxxx)."
See delete_branches() in builtin/branch.c
