Hi everyone,

Communities had to sign up for the Outreachy December 2025 internship cohort before Sept. 10, 2025 at 4pm UTC which is relatively soon. As I am willing to participate as a coordinator and mentor, like previous years, I just signed us up. We can still decide not to participate if we don't find mentors, good interns or sponsorship for the interns.

I have mentioned GitLab, GitHub and the Git project as organizations that might be willing to sponsor, but others are very welcome to help as Outreachy is navigating significant financial challenges these days.

For more information, see:

As usual, everyone is welcome to participate especially in (co)mentoring, providing microproject and project ideas and sending PRs to update relevant pages on https://git.github.io/.

Thanks.

I am writing here to indicate my interest in Co-mentoring. Thanks.

Thanks, this is very much appreciated!

So far it looks like we would co-mentor together a project about removing global state similar to Ayush's GSoC 2025 project. I hope it works for you.

Thank you.

I would be glad to act as a backup mentor in case any of the existing mentors / co-mentors have sudden change of availability during the program.
If you need help with organising, I would be glad to help there too.

Thanks, you are very welcome!

Yes please, I am moving to a new house these days so I took some days off, but I am still very busy with a lot of things. Anyway I think you can make a request to be a coordinator for Git on the Outreachy website, and I am going to approve it.

The main issue is that we have until September 26 at 4pm UTC (so tomorrow) to submit Outreachy projects. I am going to submit one related to removing global state similar to Ayush's GSoC 2025 project, but maybe we need a few more in case we find more mentors and co-mentors later?

Thanks again!
