Bug/problem compile problem with 1.6.0 pn SCO OpenServer 6.0

Hello,

I finally found the time to attempt to build 1.6.0.  

This is what I am seeing.

gmake: *** [git-shell] Error 1

I did do some testing prior with my git clone of 1.6.0 and I never saw this problem. Where do I need to start to fix this.
