Junio C Hamano posted What's cooking in git.git (Oct 2026, #04). Its introduction restates the usual conventions. Topics marked '+' are in 'next' and are candidates for a future release. Topics marked '-' are only in 'seen' and are not considered accepted. A topic without enough support may be discarded after a long period of inactivity.
The notable change is the cycle boundary. After flushing the topics that were waiting in 'next' down to 'master' to start the cycle for Git 2.98, the 'next' branch has been rewound. Topics still in flight will need to be re-merged into the fresh 'next' as they become stable.
The excerpt does not include the per-topic listings, so which topics were merged or are newly queued is not covered here.
