Johannes Schindelin announced Git for Windows 2.56.0(2), available from gitforwindows.org. It follows v2.56.0 of September 28th.
New features: the release comes with OpenSSL v3.5.9. A compatibility shim is now installed to help with stale references to the Git Credential Manager left over from the MINGW64 to UCRT64 migration in v2.56.0.
Bug fixes: suppressing the user-wide Git config via GIT_CONFIG_GLOBAL=NUL had been broken in v2.56.0, which the announcement attributes to the MINGW64 to UCRT64 migration, and is now fixed. The announcement also lists a fix for a bug in v2.56.0 where the x64 Git executables lost their (description truncated in the excerpt).
