I accidentally put a git repo on a network-mounted drive once. With 20ms round-trip time to the server, git operations took forever. Could you try it on a disk you know is local? Preferrably a solid state drive. If it's still slow there, we know for sure something's broken inside git. If switching media causes git to become fast, you'll know it's a hardware problem. -- Andreas Ericsson andreas.ericsson@op5.se OP5 AB www.op5.se Tel: +46 8-230225 Fax: +46 8-230231 Considering the successes of the wars on alcohol, poverty, drugs and terror, I think we should give some serious thought to declaring war on peace.
