Maybe something about this could be added to configure

Optional Features:
  --disable-option-checking  ignore unrecognized --enable/--with options
  --disable-FEATURE       do not include FEATURE (same as --enable-FEATURE=no)
  --enable-FEATURE[=ARG]  include FEATURE [ARG=yes]
  --enable-pthreads=FLAGS FLAGS is the value to pass to the compiler to enable
 
 --disable-nsec

to avoid to someone else to reinvent the wheel like i did :-)
