Ie you need a *modern* compiler. \n\n(To be honest, the git sources do use some gcc extensions, but \n (a) I think they are all successfully conditional on gcc already\n (b) most modern vendor compilers support a lot of them anyway\n\n\nThe Makefile is very GNU-make, though, so even if you don't have gcc, you \nshould have GNU make, or you'd need to create your own makefile.\n\nAnd you'll need perl, and a basic set of development libraries: zlib and \nopenssl are the minimum set, I think (apart from the basic C library with \nnetworking extensions).\n\nFor full functionality, you'll need ssh, rsync, tcl/tk, curl, expat, SVN, \nCVS, cvsps, etc - obviously depending on what you're actually going to do.\n\n\t\t\tLinus\n"}]}
