Then, when you're done, simply move the tag to the new HEAD.\n git tag -d LastReadCommit\n git tag LastReadCommit\n\n-- \n.marius\n\n"},{"id":"44319","messageId":"20070608065739.GC18521@spearce.org","threadId":"8500","inReplyTo":"20070608084501.1b66f16a@localhost.localdomain","subject":"Re: gitk highlighting commits","fromName":"Shawn O. So you are asking gitk to show you all commits that\nare now in your current branch (implied by nothing to the right of\nthe ..) that were not in your branch before the pull (ORIG_HEAD).\nThat is the stuff you just pullled.\n\nIf its many days later that you want to look at this and you have\ndone some things that overwrite ORIG_HEAD (git reset; git rebase;\netc.) then this becomes more difficult. But you can also do by\ntime:\n\n gitk HEAD@{2.days.ago}..\n\nThis shows you everything that is new *to you* in the past two days.\nEven if the changes were created months ago and just recently were\npulled by you yesterday, they will appear in gitk, because you asked\nfor *your* history over the past two days, not the project history.\n\nThese same tricks also work with git-log of course:\n\n git log ORIG_HEAD...\n git log HEAD@{2.days.ago}..\n\nYou could also take a look at the manual page for git-rev-parse,\nthere are some more details covered there I think.\n \n-- \nShawn.\n"},{"id":"44376","messageId":"20070608211133.GB4084@efreet.light.src","threadId":"8500","inReplyTo":"20070608065739.GC18521@spearce.org","subject":"Re: gitk highlighting commits","fromName":"Jan Hudec","fromEmail":"bulb@ucw.cz","sentAt":"2007-06-08T21:11:33Z","receivedAt":"2007-06-08T21:11:33Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"bulb@ucw.cz","avatar":null},"body":"On Fri, Jun 08, 2007 at 02:57:39 -0400, Shawn O.
