I can get started okay with stg init and stg new \"mypatch\",\nstg refresh then picks up modifications without having to be told about\nthe changed files, very nice.\n\nHowever after I have modified several files in the tree, stg refresh\nbreaks without my having changed anything in the meantime to do with\nstgit. The problem looks like this:\n\n$ stg refresh\nChecking for changes in the working directory... done\nRefreshing patch \"mISDN-remove-unused-test-from-bitops.patch\"...error:\ndrivers/isdn/hardware/mISDN/drivers/isdn/hardware/mISDN/appl.c: does not\nexist and --remove not passed\nfatal: Unable to process file\ndrivers/isdn/hardware/mISDN/drivers/isdn/hardware/mISDN/appl.c\nstg refresh: Failed git-update-index\n\n$ pwd\n/projects/octotux/packages/mISDN-1.2.0/drivers/isdn/hardware/mISDN\n$ ls appl.c\nappl.c\n\nThe tree starts at /projects/octotux/packages/mISDN-1.2.0, ie, there is\na .git/ in there. Notice that in the diagnostic, the path after the\nstart of the tree is repeated twice :-( but I did not run any stg or git\ncommands between a successful stg refresh and the first broken one.\n\nIn case it is important, I am working on a branch called \"portability\".\n\nThis is with\n\n# rpm -q git-core\ngit-core-1.5.0.6-1.fc7\n# rpm -q stgit\nstgit-0.12.1-2.fc7\n\n-Andy\n"},{"id":"43966","messageId":"4663EB48.3020302@warmcat.com","threadId":"8423","inReplyTo":"4663CC54.7090203@warmcat.com","subject":"Re: StGIT munged path on refresh","fromName":"Andy Green","fromEmail":"andy@warmcat.com","sentAt":"2007-06-04T10:36:56Z","receivedAt":"2007-06-04T10:36:56Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"andy@warmcat.com","avatar":"https://gravatar.com/avatar/cc8d9622972f22b99adb7d46cad8ed719cc7088eafbdef72639b74bce045ae49?d=mp&s=160"},"body":"Andy Green wrote:\n\n> I have been using quilt with some success and now I am trying to migrate\n> to stgit.
