I'm quite new to git (but so far I really like it, great\njob guys!) and I never use SVN, so don't really know what information\nmay be needed to be able to help me on the right track.  I hope the\nbelow problem description is appropriate.\n\n\nThe situation is as follows:\n\nI plan to use git and git svn to track a module in the middle of a SVN\nrepository (which I have no control over) where I don't have read\naccess more than to this specific module and the base directory, ie\nthe layout is similar to this\n\thttps://svn.foo.bar/a/b/c/trunk\n\thttps://svn.foo.bar/a/b/c/tags\n\thttps://svn.foo.bar/a/b/c/branches\nand I have read access to https://svm.foo.bar/a,\nhttps://svn.foo.bar/a/b/c and below, but nothing else.\n\nWhat I want to do is clone the whole thing, including tags and\nbranches. But to be a bit more clear about what\nthis actually gives me in the directory I just cloned to, and this is\nthe problem:\n\n$ git checkout -f master\nAlready on branch \"master\"\n$ ls -a\n.  ..  .git\n$ du -hs .git/objects\n186K    .git/objects\n\nThere should be hundreds of files here, several MB of code.  So\nsomething has gone seriously wrong here --- or at least did not work\nthe way I expected it to.  The .git/objects in the second example\ncontains 5.7 MB data.
