As\nsingle commits are normally very small downloading them is very fast.\n\nHowever, our web repository has a few commits which are quite large\n(around 35Mb each). This is where we have committed large binary files\nto the repository (I know git wasn't designed for this).\n\nWhen cloning this repository even on a reasonably fast link git appears\nto have \"gotten stuck\".\n\nIt would be nice if when downloading git could report the download\nprogress (a kb/sec would be really cool). I can understand this probably\nisn't a high priority as most of you wouldn't have this situation, I\njust thought I would throw it out there. (I may even have a crack when I\nam a bit less busy.)\n\nThanks for making such a cool RCS.\n\nTim Ansell\n\nYou can find the public repository at,\nhttp://git.thousandparsec.net/git/web.git\ngit://git.thousandparsec.net/git/web.git\n"},{"id":"40389","messageId":"81b0412b0704250140h773a0cf0na0e393f2ca56f0e5@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"7829","inReplyTo":"1177489402.12689.42.camel@localhost","subject":"Re: [Feature Request] Download transfer rate display","fromName":"Alex Riesen","fromEmail":"raa.lkml@gmail.com","sentAt":"2007-04-25T08:40:47Z","receivedAt":"2007-04-25T08:40:47Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"raa.lkml@gmail.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/324101?v=4"},"body":"On 4/25/07, Tim Ansell <mithro@mithis.com> wrote:\n> It would be nice if when downloading git could report the download\n> progress (a kb/sec would be really cool). Will do that next time I'm bored.\n\n\nNicolas\n"}]}
