I do not \nwant this tree to be up-to-date with the latest commits upstream, rather I \nneed it on (sub-)version basis. But there is apparently no way to say in \nstgit \"please pull up to specific commit\".\n\nWhat I did before 0.12 was\n\ngit branch b2.6.21-rc3 v2.6.21-rc3\nstg pull . b2.6.21-rc3\n\nNow \"stg pull\" no more accepts branch name; but I cannot figure how to to the \nsame using git config. I have:\n\nbranch.cooker.merge=stgit\nbranch.cooker.remote=stgit\n\nthen I do\n\ngit branch stgit v2.6.21-rc3\nstg pull .\n\nThis always results in \"up to date\" message and nothing is actually merged in \ncurrent branch. But if I do\n\nstg pop -a\ngit pull . stgit\n\nthen changes *are* merged as expected\n\nSo for now I have a workaround, but it is rather awkward. May be I am doing it \nthe wrong way and I should just do \"stg pull; git reset\" but I had bad \nexperience with mixing stgit and git tree/index manipulation commands in the \npast.\n\nTIA\n\n-andrey\n"}]}
