{"thread":{"id":"64250","subject":"gitweb and gitweb_config.perl problem","startedAt":"2025-10-05T05:03:44Z","lastAt":"2025-10-05T05:03:44Z","messageCount":1,"participants":["rob@robdavies.net"],"isPatch":false,"patchVersion":null,"patchTotal":null},"messages":[{"id":"527924","messageId":"4f19f3b21d3db8d7cdb962089910839c@robdavies.net","threadId":"64250","inReplyTo":null,"subject":"gitweb and gitweb_config.perl problem","fromName":"","fromEmail":"rob@robdavies.net","sentAt":"2025-10-05T04:57:02Z","receivedAt":"2025-10-05T05:03:44Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"rob@robdavies.net","avatar":null},"body":"Hi\n\nI found a bug in gitweb when using gitweb_config.perl\n\nI downloaded and installed gitweb from source, it worked at this point. \nI configured using a gitweb_config.perl file, it was at this point I got \nan error :\n500 - Internal Server Error No such file or directory at gitweb.cgi line \n734.\n\nI ran gitweb.cgi from the command line and got this error as well as the \nerror above :\n[Sun Oct  5 04:53:37 2025] gitweb.cgi: do \"gitweb_config.perl\" failed, \n'.' is no longer in @INC; did you mean do \"./gitweb_config.perl\"? at \n./gitweb.cgi line 732.\n\nI then changed line 744 in gitweb.cgi from :\n\tour $GITWEB_CONFIG = $ENV{'GITWEB_CONFIG'} || \"gitweb_config.perl\";\nto\n\tour $GITWEB_CONFIG = $ENV{'GITWEB_CONFIG'} || \"./gitweb_config.perl\";\nand it worked\n\nI have seen this same error on\nhttps://bugs.gentoo.org/675864\n\nSolution :\nI changed the file git/gitweb/Makefile line 14 from :\nGITWEB_CONFIG = gitweb_config.perl\nto\nGITWEB_CONFIG = ./gitweb_config.perl\n\nwhen I built it this time using :\nmake gitweb\nmake gitwebdir=~/www/www/gitweb install-gitweb\n\nIt now worked when I configured using the file gitweb_config.perl.\n\nKind regards,\nRob Davies\n\n"}]}
