(Steps to reproduce your issue)*\n1) Run git fetch --prune --tags --prune-tags\n2) Lose internet connection (in the MRE video below we turn it off via\nnmcli)\n3) See that git fetch does not return while internet is lost\n4) Regain internet connection\n5) Git fetch does not return after connection has been regained. Can hang\nindefinitely.\n\n*What did you expect to happen? (Expected behavior)*\nThe behavior with the --prune --tags and --prune-tags flags differs from\ngit fetch with no flags.\nRunning the same process with `git fetch` we see that it will return\nquickly after the internet has been restored.\n\nI expect the git fetch --tags --prune --prune-tags to return quickly when\ninternet is restored and not hang indefinitely.\n\n*What happened instead? (Actual behavior)*\nThe git fetch process will hang indefinitely.\n\n*What's different between what you expected and what actually happened?*\nOne can hang forever and one has expected return behavior.\n\n[System Info]\ngit version:\ngit version 2.43.0\ncpu: x86_64\nuname: Linux 6.11.0-26-generic #26~24.04.1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu\nApr 17 19:20:47 UTC 2 x86_64\ncompiler info: gnuc: 13.3\nlibc info: glibc: 2.39\n$SHELL (typically, interactive shell): /bin/bash\n-- \n\nParker Killion\n\nRobotics Engineer\n\n(949) 274-5853\n[image: Built Robotics] <https://www.builtrobotics.com/>\n\nBuilt Robotics\n\nRobots that build the world\n\nThis email and any attachments may contain confidential material for the\nsole use of the intended recipient(s).
