As we\nhave at least one mentor for now (me), we should propose at least one\nproject though.\n\nAll ideas for projects are welcome, don't hesitate to suggest one! But\nthe simplest would be to continue one of the projects we proposed for\nthis year's GSoC which is just over. By the way, congrats to Shuqi and\nKousik for successfully completing their projects!\n\nSo Shuqi and Kousik, please tell us if you would like to continue\nworking on your projects or if it's Ok if we propose them for\nOutreachy.\n\nAbout \"Unifying the pretty and ref-filter formats\", I don't think\nthere are a lot more atoms to work on, but maybe that would be enough\nwork if Kousik stopped working on it after his current work on mailmap\noptions for some atom is merged (which might happen soon).\n\nAbout the \"More Sparse Index Integrations\" Shuqi worked on, mentored\nby Victoria, I am likely not the best person to mentor it, but I think\nI could manage. I am going to propose this as the coding\npart of Outreachy should start only in December and I think there are\ngood chances that the unit test framework will be merged by then. In\ncase everything is not ready when Outreachy starts, I think we will\nprobably find other unit tests or libification related work that the\nintern can do.\n\nFor example, I recently thought about converting commands that store\nconfig info in global variables and use old config functions like\ngit_config_(int|bool|string|...) to instead use the git_config_get_*()\nfunctions and no more global variables. I wanted to ask about it\ntoday, but I think your suggestion would be better.\n\nThanks,\nChristian.\n"},{"id":"482368","messageId":"CAP8UFD1S-rc8gWREEDe1LU4aojbXND85SmRGGBoJ-0E_KpS2Bg@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"60269","inReplyTo":"1c12ac0a-5e45-bb27-c452-250ffd4b9320@github.com","subject":"Re: Projects for the next Outreachy round","fromName":"Christian Couder","fromEmail":"christian.couder@gmail.com","sentAt":"2023-09-27T06:18:19Z","receivedAt":"2023-09-27T06:18:47Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"christian.couder@gmail.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/208954?v=4"},"body":"Hi Victoria,\n\nOn Tue, Sep 26, 2023 at 7:18 PM Victoria Dye <vdye@github.com> wrote:\n>\n> Christian Couder wrote:\n> > About the \"More Sparse Index Integrations\" Shuqi worked on, mentored\n> > by Victoria, I am likely not the best person to mentor it, but I think\n> > I could manage.
