This PR contains fixes\nfor CVE-2022-41953, follow up fixes for bugs uncovered in\nCygwin-specific bits, and some other minor fixes.\n\nAs you and others might have noticed already, I have been quite inactive\nin maintaining git-gui. There are several reasons for that. For one, I\ndo not find much time and energy for it amongst my responsibilities both\nin work and in personal life. For another, I simply do not use git-gui\nmuch these days. I use good old Magit for the most part, and it fares\nfairly well.\n\nFor these reasons, I would be happy to hand over maintainership of\ngit-gui to more interested hands. I do not know of anyone myself. But I\nhope this email finds itself to someone who would be willing to\nvolunteer.\n\nIn the meantime, I can still pick up odd fixes or security fixes every\nnow and then. I cannot promise much more than this.\n\n---\nThe following changes since commit df4f9e28f64ea97032ec70d9c8894dc87a1b7f9e:\n\n Merge branch 'py/revert-commit-comments' (2021-03-04 13:59:45 +0530)\n\nare available in the Git repository at:\n\n https://github.com/prati0100/git-gui.git \n\nfor you to fetch changes up to e25cbdf3576f07bda742a4f13d9380a815e43502:\n\n Merge branch 'ml/cygwin-fixes' (2023-08-24 16:46:29 +0200)\n\n----------------------------------------------------------------\nJohannes Schindelin (5):\n windows: ignore empty `PATH` elements\n is_Cygwin: avoid `exec`ing anything\n Move is_<platform> functions to the beginning\n Move the `_which` function (almost) to the top\n Work around Tcl's default `PATH` lookup\n\nMark Levedahl (4):\n git gui Makefile - remove Cygwin modifications\n git-gui - remove obsolete Cygwin specific code\n git-gui - use cygstart to browse on Cygwin\n git-gui - use mkshortcut on Cygwin\n\nPratyush Yadav (4):\n Merge branch 'vk/readme-typo'\n Merge branch 'js/windows-rce'\n Merge branch 'ab/makeflags'\n Merge branch 'ml/cygwin-fixes'\n\nVipul Kumar (1):\n git-gui: Fix a typo in README\n\nÆvar Arnfjörð Bjarmason (1):\n Makefiles: change search through $(MAKEFLAGS) for GNU make 4.4\n\n Makefile | 23 +---\n README.md | 2 +-\n git-gui.sh | 309 ++++++++++++++++++++--------------------------\n lib/choose_repository.tcl | 27 +---\n lib/shortcut.tcl | 31 +++--\n 5 files changed, 154 insertions(+), 238 deletions(-)\n\n-- \nRegards,\nPratyush Yadav\n"},{"id":"481002","messageId":"xmqqjztkbchc.fsf@gitster.g","threadId":"60151","inReplyTo":"mafs0wmxkcs3o.fsf@yadavpratyush.com","subject":"Re: [GIT PULL] git-gui pull request; also, call for a new maintainer","fromName":"Junio C Hamano","fromEmail":"gitster@pobox.com","sentAt":"2023-08-24T17:02:07Z","receivedAt":"2023-08-24T17:03:18Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"gitster@pobox.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/54884?v=4"},"body":"Pratyush Yadav <me@yadavpratyush.com> writes:\n\n> For these reasons, I would be happy to hand over maintainership of\n> git-gui to more interested hands.
