Modern Thunderbird requires a new add-on to force\nnon-flowed messages, and that works as expected only when TB is\nconfigured \"correctly\". I've missed this subtle point. Here's the\npatch again unmodified, hopefully non-flowed.\n\n---- 8< ----\nSubject: [PATCH] replace \"parameters\" by \"arguments\" in error messages\n\nWhen an error message informs the user about an incorrect command\ninvocation, it should refer to \"arguments\", not \"parameters\".\n\nSigned-off-by: Johannes Sixt <j6t@kdbg.org>\n---\n bisect.c                    |  2 +-\n builtin/notes.c             | 20 ++++++++++----------\n builtin/stash.c             |  2 +-\n builtin/tag.c               |  2 +-\n t/t3301-notes.sh            |  6 +++---\n t/t6030-bisect-porcelain.sh |  4 ++--\n 6 files changed, 18 insertions(+), 18 deletions(-)\n\ndiff --git a/bisect.c b/bisect.c\nindex 75ea0eb57f..ae48d19acf 100644\n--- a/bisect.c\n+++ b/bisect.c\n@@ -1064,7 +1064,7 @@ enum bisect_error bisect_next_all(struct repository *r, const char *prefix)\n \n \tif (!all) {\n \t\tfprintf(stderr, _(\"No testable commit found.\\n\"\n-\t\t\t\"Maybe you started with bad path parameters?\\n\"));\n+\t\t\t\"Maybe you started with bad path arguments?\\n\"));\n \n \t\treturn BISECT_NO_TESTABLE_COMMIT;\n \t}\ndiff --git a/builtin/notes.c b/builtin/notes.c\nindex 2987c08a2e..08b8914d29 100644\n--- a/builtin/notes.c\n+++ b/builtin/notes.c\n@@ -373,7 +373,7 @@ static int list(int argc, const char **argv, const char *prefix)\n \t\t\t\t     git_notes_list_usage, 0);\n \n \tif (1 < argc) {\n-\t\terror(_(\"too many parameters\"));\n+\t\terror(_(\"too many arguments\"));\n \t\tusage_with_options(git_notes_list_usage, options);\n \t}\n \n@@ -428,7 +428,7 @@ static int add(int argc, const char **argv, const char *prefix)\n \t\t\t     PARSE_OPT_KEEP_ARGV0);\n \n \tif (2 < argc) {\n-\t\terror(_(\"too many parameters\"));\n+\t\terror(_(\"too many arguments\"));\n \t\tusage_with_options(git_notes_add_usage, options);\n \t}\n \n@@ -506,7 +506,7 @@ static int copy(int argc, const char **argv, const char *prefix)\n \n \tif (from_stdin || rewrite_cmd) {\n \t\tif (argc) {\n-\t\t\terror(_(\"too many parameters\"));\n+\t\t\terror(_(\"too many arguments\"));\n \t\t\tusage_with_options(git_notes_copy_usage, options);\n \t\t} else {\n \t\t\treturn notes_copy_from_stdin(force, rewrite_cmd);\n@@ -514,11 +514,11 @@ static int copy(int argc, const char **argv, const char *prefix)\n \t}\n \n \tif (argc < 1) {\n-\t\terror(_(\"too few parameters\"));\n+\t\terror(_(\"too few arguments\"));\n \t\tusage_with_options(git_notes_copy_usage, options);\n \t}\n \tif (2 < argc) {\n-\t\terror(_(\"too many parameters\"));\n+\t\terror(_(\"too many arguments\"));\n \t\tusage_with_options(git_notes_copy_usage, options);\n \t}\n \n@@ -595,7 +595,7 @@ static int append_edit(int argc, const char **argv, const char *prefix)\n \t\t\t     PARSE_OPT_KEEP_ARGV0);\n \n \tif (2 < argc) {\n-\t\terror(_(\"too many parameters\"));\n+\t\terror(_(\"too many arguments\"));\n \t\tusage_with_options(usage, options);\n \t}\n \n@@ -662,7 +662,7 @@ static int show(int argc, const char **argv, const char *prefix)\n \t\t\t     0);\n \n \tif (1 < argc) {\n-\t\terror(_(\"too many parameters\"));\n+\t\terror(_(\"too many arguments\"));\n \t\tusage_with_options(git_notes_show_usage, options);\n \t}\n \n@@ -812,7 +812,7 @@ static int merge(int argc, const char **argv, const char *prefix)\n \t\terror(_(\"must specify a notes ref to merge\"));\n \t\tusage_with_options(git_notes_merge_usage, options);\n \t} else if (!do_merge && argc) {\n-\t\terror(_(\"too many parameters\"));\n+\t\terror(_(\"too many arguments\"));\n \t\tusage_with_options(git_notes_merge_usage, options);\n \t}\n \n@@ -960,7 +960,7 @@ static int prune(int argc, const char **argv, const char *prefix)\n \t\t\t     0);\n \n \tif (argc) {\n-\t\terror(_(\"too many parameters\"));\n+\t\terror(_(\"too many arguments\"));\n \t\tusage_with_options(git_notes_prune_usage, options);\n \t}\n \n@@ -982,7 +982,7 @@ static int get_ref(int argc, const char **argv, const char *prefix)\n \t\t\t     git_notes_get_ref_usage, 0);\n \n \tif (argc) {\n-\t\terror(_(\"too many parameters\"));\n+\t\terror(_(\"too many arguments\"));\n \t\tusage_with_options(git_notes_get_ref_usage, options);\n \t}\n \ndiff --git a/builtin/stash.c b/builtin/stash.c\nindex 9bc85f91cd..60813d70d3 100644\n--- a/builtin/stash.c\n+++ b/builtin/stash.c\n@@ -222,7 +222,7 @@ static int clear_stash(int argc, const char **argv, const char *prefix)\n \t\t\t     PARSE_OPT_STOP_AT_NON_OPTION);\n \n \tif (argc)\n-\t\treturn error(_(\"git stash clear with parameters is \"\n+\t\treturn error(_(\"git stash clear with arguments is \"\n \t\t\t       \"unimplemented\"));\n \n \treturn do_clear_stash();\ndiff --git a/builtin/tag.c b/builtin/tag.c\nindex e8b85eefd8..482d1b7d28 100644\n--- a/builtin/tag.c\n+++ b/builtin/tag.c\n@@ -564,7 +564,7 @@ int cmd_tag(int argc, const char **argv, const char *prefix)\n \n \tobject_ref = argc == 2 ?
