(Steps to reproduce your issue)\nI set the color in my Windows cmd-line window to something other than the default.  I then ran 'git branch'; from that point forward, text is no longer in the colors specified by the color cmd; instead, it's the default cmdline color scheme.\n\nWhat did you expect to happen? (Expected behavior)\nsee above - I expected the specified cmdline color scheme to be preserved\n\nWhat happened instead? (Actual behavior)\nColors were rolled back to cmd.exe defaults\n\nWhat's different between what you expected and what actually happened?\n\nAnything else you want to add:\nThis is a regression - this behavior worked in a build probably 3-4 years ago.  I believe it was broken (but unreported) in 2.29.0 or so; it is still not fixed after this upgrade.\n\n\nPlease review the rest of the bug report below.\nYou can delete any lines you don't wish to share.\n\n\n[System Info]\ngit version:\ngit version 2.29.2.windows.2\ncpu: x86_64\nbuilt from commit: 3464b98ce6803c98bf8fb34390cd150d66e4a0d3\nsizeof-long: 4\nsizeof-size_t: 8\nshell-path: /bin/sh\nuname: Windows 10.0 19042 \ncompiler info: gnuc: 10.2\nlibc info: no libc information available\n$SHELL (typically, interactive shell): <unset>\n\n\n[Enabled Hooks]\npost-commit\n"},{"id":"409562","messageId":"nycvar.QRO.7.76.6.2011102341460.18437@tvgsbejvaqbjf.bet","threadId":"54614","inReplyTo":"MWHPR21MB01435E001D3B779017675B1297E90@MWHPR21MB0143.namprd21.prod.outlook.com","subject":"Re: BUG: Windows Color scheme not preserved","fromName":"Johannes Schindelin","fromEmail":"johannes.schindelin@gmx.de","sentAt":"2020-11-10T22:42:48Z","receivedAt":"2020-11-10T22:42:54Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"johannes.schindelin@gmx.de","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/127790?v=4"},"body":"Hi Ryan,\n\nOn Tue, 10 Nov 2020, Ryan Wilkerson wrote:\n\n> What did you do before the bug happened?
