This was originally added by\ncommit 5a571cdd8a (Clean generated files a bit more, to cope with\nDebian build droppings., 2005-08-12). However, all support for the\n'debian build' was dropped by commit 7d0e65b892 (Retire debian/\ndirectory., 2006-01-06), which seems to have simply forgotten to\nremove the 'git-core_$(GIT_VERSION)-*.tar.gz' from the 'clean'\ntarget. Remove it now.\n\nSigned-off-by: Ramsay Jones <ramsay@ramsayjones.plus.com>\n---\n Makefile | 2 +-\n 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+), 1 deletion(-)\n\ndiff --git a/Makefile b/Makefile\nindex 95571ee3fc..09d6f23b88 100644\n--- a/Makefile\n+++ b/Makefile\n@@ -3150,7 +3150,7 @@ clean: profile-clean coverage-clean cocciclean\n \t$(RM) -r po/build/\n \t$(RM) *.pyc *.pyo */*.pyc */*.pyo $(GENERATED_H) $(ETAGS_TARGET) tags cscope*\n \t$(RM) -r $(GIT_TARNAME) .doc-tmp-dir\n-\t$(RM) $(GIT_TARNAME).tar.gz git-core_$(GIT_VERSION)-*.tar.gz\n+\t$(RM) $(GIT_TARNAME).tar.gz\n \t$(RM) $(htmldocs).tar.gz $(manpages).tar.gz\n \t$(MAKE) -C Documentation/ clean\n \t$(RM) Documentation/GIT-EXCLUDED-PROGRAMS\n-- \n2.29.0\n"}]}
