The bundle\ninstallation requires you to download and install the new version. Any\ncustomizations you made will be kept as long as you did so in the\nappropriate configuration folders.\n\nFor advanced users working with the Git for Windows SDK pacman is\navailable as a package manager. See Package management\n---\n\nIn principle, you could uninstall Git for Windows and re-install it\nwith the bundler [2] and your git settings should be safe.\n\n[1]: https://github.com/git-for-windows/git/wiki/FAQ#how-do-i-update-git-for-windows-upon-new-releases\n[2]: https://git-scm.com/download/win\n\n> Git downloads page implies this might work, but I am unsure as to what\n> this does....\n> \n> \n> Git via Git\n> If you already have Git installed, you can get the latest development\n> version via Git itself:\n> git clone https://github.com/git/git\n> \n\nThis installs the *development* version of Git. It's primarily intended\nfor developers who want to contribute to Git (either through writing\ncode, documentation, testing, packaging, etc).\n\nAs you use Git as an end user, I would recommend installing through the\nbundler.\n\n> \n> -- \n> Hello World\n\nRegards\nAbhishek\n"}]}
