Sorry I am late for GSoC application... But I am ready\nto start contribute to git.\nI am a freshman in Computer Science and this is my first time\ncontributing to git project.  I have already had some experience\nworking with C, shell and Perl. I found that there are several lines\nof code in shell scripts using 'type' instead of \"command -V\", which\nis not currently in POSIX standard but in XSI... See:\nhttps://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/9699919799/\nI thought that it would be better to use POSIX standard although many\ncommon shell including 'type' as its built-in.\nI would like to go through all the code and replace type with \"command\n-V\" properly.\nIs this worth doing so?\nThanks,\nAngel\n"}]}
