Hi.\n\nI realise that this is really an apache question, but Im not getting any\nhelp from their mailing lists and figure that there must be someone here\nwhos done this.\n\nCan someone please help me get a GIT repo running on Apache 2.\nSpecifically my problem is with DAV.\n\n$ git push http://localhost:/webdav/git/myproj master\nError: no DAV locking support on remote repo\n\nI have dav_fs.conf, dav_fs.load, and dav.load in mods-enabled. They\nload the modules and set\n\nDAVLockDB /var/lock/apache2/DAV.lock\n\nApache owns and has full access to that directory.\n\nI have removed all .htaccess files below /var/www/webdav. I am not\nusing any form of authentication. I have tried with and without aliases\nfor the repo directory. I have tried setting DAV on for\n/var/www/webdav/git, and /var/www/webdav/git/myproj.\n\nIts always the same. No DAV locking support.\n\nIf could help or even point me to some appropriate documentation (Ive\nlooked and looked and cant find any) Id appreciate it.\n\nThanks.\n"},{"id":"25032","messageId":"Pine.LNX.4.63.0608091831320.1800@wbgn013.biozentrum.uni-wuerzburg.de","threadId":"5184","inReplyTo":"44DA060B.2050601@eircom.net","subject":"Re: setting up a git repo on apache","fromName":"Johannes Schindelin","fromEmail":"johannes.schindelin@gmx.de","sentAt":"2006-08-09T16:35:26Z","receivedAt":"2006-08-09T16:35:26Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"johannes.schindelin@gmx.de","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/127790?v=4"},"body":"Hi,\n\nOn Wed, 9 Aug 2006, Alan Larkin wrote:\n\n> $ git push http://localhost:/webdav/git/myproj master\n> Error: no DAV locking support on remote repo\n\nWhat do the access_log and the error_log say about this?\n\nIt could also be that you have a \"Require valid-user\" somewhere in there \nby mistake.\n\nFurther, you might want to check if it works _with_ authentication (I \nnever tried without, and I am not sure if it should be allowed to begin \nwith).\n\nThere is a recent thread by Junio, Rutger and me, which might help you:\n\nhttp://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.version-control.git/24816/focus=24861\n\nHth,\nDscho\n"},{"id":"25034","messageId":"20060809164305.GA7841@nospam.com","threadId":"5184","inReplyTo":"44DA060B.2050601@eircom.net","subject":"Re: setting up a git repo on apache","fromName":"Rutger Nijlunsing","fromEmail":"rutger@nospam.com","sentAt":"2006-08-09T16:43:05Z","receivedAt":"2006-08-09T16:43:05Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"rutger.nijlunsing@gmail.com","avatar":null},"body":"On Wed, Aug 09, 2006 at 04:58:03PM +0100, Alan Larkin wrote:\n> New user ... It did however contain the\nsuggestion to use litmus to test the webdav and thats proving curious\ninsofar as several tests are failing, but in a not entirely reproducible\nway. I mean, on one test I might see\n\n14. cond_put..............
