JGit API is very well designed and is a joy to use. The performance is very good, except for long operations such as full clone. So for pull/push I am calling native git, but for other operations which may need to be executed several times during a request I am using JGit which is much faster thanks for the in-process cache. \n\nI also filed several suggestions/bugs while using JGit: \nhttps://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/buglist.cgi?email1=robin%40pmease.com&emailreporter1=1&emailtype1=substring&product=JGit&query_format=advanced\n\nI'd like to help fixing, but right now does not have time to dig into JGit internals...\n\nAs to compared to other software listed here, I am only used GitHub intensively, so can not provide any valuable information. \n\nRegards\nRobin\n \nFrom: Jonathan Nieder <jrnieder@gmail.com>\nSent: Tuesday, January 8, 2019 6:26:31 AM\nTo: Robin Shen\nCc: git@vger.kernel.org; jgit-dev@eclipse.org\nSubject: Re: Introducing OneDev - an open source git server with interesting features\n  \n\n+jgit-dev\nHi Robin,\n\nRobin Shen wrote:\n\n> Dear git users,\n>\n> OneDev is an open source git server with interesting features such\n> as language aware code search/navigation, issue workflow\n> customization, free source/diff comment and discussion, etc.\n>\n> It is using MIT license and hope it can be useful to someone.  Learn\n> more at https://onedev.io\n\nThanks for writing!  Looking at\nhttps://github.com/theonedev/onedev/blob/master/core/pom.xml, it\nappears this is a web interface that uses JGit for Git support.\n\nCan you say a little about how it compares to Gitblit\n<http://gitblit.com>, Phabricator, Gerrit, and other interfaces?\n\nAlso, if you have time for it, mind saying a little about what your\nexperience using JGit has been like?  Any thoughts about what worked\nwell and what didn't work as well?  This can help both the Git and\nJGit projects:\n\n- Git, since it can help us learn from JGit's successes and mistakes\n- JGit, since it's not too late to make the API better :)\n\nSincerely,\nJonathan\n "},{"id":"366536","messageId":"20190110213036.GC17382@google.com","threadId":"50167","inReplyTo":"SG2PR04MB320586447FF738E008C373FFB9840@SG2PR04MB3205.apcprd04.prod.outlook.com","subject":"Re: Introducing OneDev - an open source git server with interesting features","fromName":"Jonathan Nieder","fromEmail":"jrnieder@gmail.com","sentAt":"2019-01-10T21:30:36Z","receivedAt":"2019-01-10T21:30:41Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"jrnieder@gmail.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/281595?v=4"},"body":"Robin Shen wrote:\n\n> Yes it is using JGit for most operations.
