Using another email address than my default one requires \nthe 'smtp-server-option' to be set, and currently this flag doesn't care \nmuch for spaces. Is this desired?\n\nCurrently my gitconfig contains the following line:\n\n\tsendemail.smtpserveroption=-a<myaccount>\n\nWhereas, the following results in an 'account' not found error:\n\n\tsendemail.smtpserveroption=-a <myaccount>\n\nFurther, the full account flag (--account) is not recognized by \n`send-email`. Could someone expand a bit on the reasoning behind this?\n\nRegards,\nChris\n"},{"id":"358240","messageId":"20180917011657.GD154643@aiede.svl.corp.google.com","threadId":"49354","inReplyTo":"20180917010244.btmlczam5m75rmto@tumbleweed","subject":"Re: Question - no space in smtp-server-option","fromName":"Jonathan Nieder","fromEmail":"jrnieder@gmail.com","sentAt":"2018-09-17T01:16:57Z","receivedAt":"2018-09-17T01:17:04Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"jrnieder@gmail.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/281595?v=4"},"body":"Hi,\n\nChris Coutinho wrote:\n\n> Currently my gitconfig contains the following line:\n>\n> \tsendemail.smtpserveroption=-a<myaccount>\n>\n> Whereas, the following results in an 'account' not found error:\n>\n> \tsendemail.smtpserveroption=-a <myaccount>\n\nDo you mean that your ~/.gitconfig literally contains that exact line?\nI would be surprised to hear that syntax works --- see [1] for the\nsyntax I would expect to work.\n\nIf you have more details, that would help.\n\nThanks,\nJonathan\n\n[1] https://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/git-config.html\n"},{"id":"358241","messageId":"20180917012721.akyclbcmeqw5dv3x@tumbleweed","threadId":"49354","inReplyTo":"20180917011657.GD154643@aiede.svl.corp.google.com","subject":"Re: Question - no space in smtp-server-option","fromName":"Chris Coutinho","fromEmail":"chrisbcoutinho@gmail.com","sentAt":"2018-09-17T01:27:21Z","receivedAt":"2018-09-17T01:30:03Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"chrisbcoutinho@gmail.com","avatar":"https://gravatar.com/avatar/f9a6717bccbe3872cfeed295717f2477d8d0b30d70b51f949986533eabcd1255?d=mp&s=160"},"body":"On Sep-16-18, Jonathan Nieder wrote:\n>Hi,\n>\n>Chris Coutinho wrote:\n>\n>> Currently my gitconfig contains the following line:\n>>\n>> \tsendemail.smtpserveroption=-a<myaccount>\n>>\n>> Whereas, the following results in an 'account' not found error:\n>>\n>> \tsendemail.smtpserveroption=-a <myaccount>\n>\n>Do you mean that your ~/.gitconfig literally contains that exact line?\n>I would be surprised to hear that syntax works --- see [1] for the\n>syntax I would expect to work.\n>\n>If you have more details, that would help.\n>\n>Thanks,\n>Jonathan\n>\n>[1] https://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/git-config.html\n\nYes that's the exact line in my gitconfig file, which correctly mails \nusing the non-default account I'm after - I'm assuming you're noticing \nthe lack of camelCase?
