Day","fromEmail":"rpjday@crashcourse.ca","sentAt":"2018-06-19T12:55:14Z","receivedAt":"2018-06-19T12:55:24Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"rpjday@crashcourse.ca","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/226084077?v=4"},"body":"\n  updating some git course material, and i want to add to the config\nsection at least a small number of example config settings that make\npractical sense to add to the system /etc/gitconfig file. that is,\nconfig settings that, even if i don't explain them fully, even novice\ngit users will appreciate that such settings make sense to apply to\n*all* users on a system.\n\n  i imagine that would include any (corporate-mandated) settings\nrelated to networking authentication and protocols,\nfilesystem-related settings and more, such as:\n\n  * core.protect{HFS,NTFS}\n  * whitespace/EOL settings\n  * proxy/ssh-related commands\n  * http.* settings\n  * some sendemail settings\n\nyou get the idea. i don't have a ton of experience configuring git in\nan enterprise setting, so while there are a zillion config settings\none *could* add to /etc/gitconfig, i'm interested in what experienced\ngit admins can testify really make sense to set in a corporate\nenvironment. does that make sense?\n\n  open to thoughts ...\n\nrday\n\n-- \n\n========================================================================\nRobert P.
