I added in the system wide gitconfig the following lines:\n\t\n\t[init]\n\t\ttemplatedir = \"//OurServer/SomeDirectory/GitTemplate\"\n\nWhere //Ourserver is a Network Path.\nWith this line i can create a new Repository and the template gets copied. But when i clone a repo the following error shows up and the template doesn't get copied:\n\ttemplates not found /OurServer/SomeDirectory/GitTemplate\n\nI Recognized that one slash was missing. I'm on Windows 8.1, but I wouldn't expect that to \nmake a difference.
