There are several reasons why we'll prefer not to\nuse the shell script. My project intends to convert the subcommands into\nC code, thus making them builtins. This will increase Git's portability\nand hence the efficiency of working with the git-submodule commands.\nLink to the complete proposal: [1]\n\nMentors:\nStefan Beller <sbeller@google.com>\nChristian Couder <christian.couder@gmail.com>\n\nUPDATES:\n\nAs planned for the first week, I continued working on completing the porting\nof submodule subcommand foreach. As suggested in the previous patches, some\nadditional changes we made to the patch and an updated version of the patch\nis posted on the mailing list.[2][3]\n\nAlso, porting of submodule subcommand status from shell to C was carried out\nin this week. For this purpose, first the function set_name_rev was ported\nfrom shell to C, and then the subcommand. A complete ported version, which\npasses all the tests is posted on the mailing list for reviews.[4][5]\n\nPLAN FOR WEEK-2 (23 May 2017 to 29 may 2017):\n\nIn this week, I plan to port submodule subcommand sync from shell to C and\npost a version of the ported function on the mailing list asap.\n\nAlso, I'll get started with porting the submodule subcommand summary in this\nweek itself and will try my best to port this as well in this week.\n\nAlong with this, I'll continue improvising the present patches, which are\ncurrently on the mailing list for reviews.\n\n\n\n[1]: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1krxVLooWl--75Pot3dazhfygR3wCUUWZWzTXtK1L-xU/\n[2]: https://public-inbox.org/git/20170521125814.26255-1-pc44800@gmail.com/\n[3]: https://public-inbox.org/git/20170521125814.26255-2-pc44800@gmail.com/\n[4]: https://public-inbox.org/git/20170521122711.22021-1-pc44800@gmail.com/\n[5]: https://public-inbox.org/git/20170521122711.22021-2-pc44800@gmail.com/\n"}]}
