As I said\nin that thread, we _don't_ have a dire need for money to keep hosting\nthe site.\n\nBut we do sometimes need money for other things (like conference\ntravel), and we rely on services (like accounting and legal advice)\nprovided by the Software Freedom Conservancy which are free to us, but\nfunded ultimately by donations.\n\nI went into detail on our project activities and finances recently at:\n\n  http://public-inbox.org/git/20170202024501.57hrw4657tsqerqq@sigill.intra.peff.net/\n\nIf you are interested in contributing financially, you can either donate\nto the Git project (10% of which goes to Conservancy's general fund, and\nthe rest ends up in Git's account):\n\n  https://git-scm.com/sfc\n\nOr you can donate directly to Conservancy's general fund:\n\n  https://sfconservancy.org/donate/\n\nThey also have an annual Supporter program, which includes the\nall-important t-shirt:\n\n  https://sfconservancy.org/supporter/\n\nThrough February 13th, there's an anonymous donor matching all Supporter\nsignups and renewals, so any donation you make before then will go twice\nas far.\n\n-Peff\n"}]}
