Their orgs have a separate channel (slack or IRC) for\nGSoC/Outreachy communications. In that channel is that all potential\nmentors are added and students too are pointed to it. In that channel\nthe very basic doubts are covered. Let's say I am online and probably\nthe student's mentor is currently unavailable, so he/she can post a\ntrivial doubt there for someone to respond quickly. It takes off a\nlittle load from the list and the mentor as well. I am aware that\nthere exists a channel named #git-devel but unfortunately its not\nreally active. I will be wiling to help other students with their\nearly days!\n\nThese days a lot of my fellow students don't really use IRC for\ncommunication and see you can see there were really less number of\npeople inquiring about GSoC in #git-devel. We can prefer slack or any\nother alternative.\n\nRegards,\nPranit Bauva\n"},{"id":"300886","messageId":"CAP8UFD2c+7OzVC7+sxrdCDg0LNx0_QZq=298qLd5o0+D3PnViQ@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"43981","inReplyTo":"20160902090247.b5gtui75hiwococc@sigill.intra.peff.net","subject":"Re: Git in Outreachy December-March?","fromName":"Christian Couder","fromEmail":"christian.couder@gmail.com","sentAt":"2016-09-02T14:34:24Z","receivedAt":"2016-09-02T14:34:32Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"christian.couder@gmail.com","avatar":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/208954?v=4"},"body":"On Fri, Sep 2, 2016 at 11:02 AM, Jeff King <peff@peff.net> wrote:\n>\n> I'm happy to act as admin.
