Git-Bash would execute commands as fast\nas the Windows command prompt.\n\nIn June, Microsoft, in its infinite wisdom, decided to self install\nWindows 10 without my authorization. Now when I used Git-Bash, it was\npainfully slow (7-20 seconds just to get the $ prompt back after an\n'ls' command). I rolled back to Windows 7 and it was still slow, but\nnow my computer was rebooting every 10 minutes or so after displaying\nthe BSoD. I decided on a clean install and wiped the hard drive and\nreinstalled Windows 7 fresh. After installing Git-Bash, it was still\npainfully slow. I read a bunch of forum fixes and none worked. The\ncomputer I was on was an old Lenovo X200 I purchased almost 10 years\nago, so I decided I needed to upgrade. I purchased a brand new Lenovo\nT460 with Windows 7.\n\nWhen it came in (Monday, June 20), I installed Git-Bash and to my\nsurprise, it was STILL slow, but since the computer was much faster, I\ncould stand to wait for each command to execute, taking only 5-12\nseconds. I then installed Adobe Creative Cloud software, which\nincluded Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC, and I also installed MS Office\n360. AFTER installing this software, Git-Bash was AMAZINGLY fast.\nCommands would execute almost instantaneously and I would get my\ncommand prompt back as soon as I hit the Enter key.\n\nAfter speaking with some people about this, they recommended that I\ninform you of my situation as it could be something that Microsoft\ninstalls as part of Office that helped make it faster. Not sure if\nthis will be of any help to you all, but thanks for developing such a\ngreat product!\n\n~Michael Wohl\nUberBooster, LLC\n(352) 258-3737\n"},{"id":"290008","messageId":"CAH5451khnqR+jhP9nEOJLNahghaRXBnRvedn0GgV8KcHzAysBg@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"42698","inReplyTo":"CAB-vh3v1v4+jfs1cyDS-Ft5_1ibGqLzzzmJK-s7MHjVPR3uYaQ@mail.gmail.com","subject":"Re: Git Bash Slow in Windows (possible fix)","fromName":"Andrew Ardill","fromEmail":"andrew.ardill@gmail.com","sentAt":"2016-06-23T23:45:13Z","receivedAt":"2016-06-23T23:46:04Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"andrew.ardill@gmail.com","avatar":"https://gravatar.com/avatar/da14cb7c091dd44dc6c63a4d3361b149acaf25226dc78eb4131a17b93d9b0993?d=mp&s=160"},"body":"Hi Michael,\n\nFirst up, Git for Windows has a dedicated issue tracker over at\nhttps://github.com/git-for-windows/git/issues you may want to submit a\nbug report there (reference this email if it's easier).\n\nOn 24 June 2016 at 02:02, UberBooster <info@uberbooster.com> wrote:\n>\n> Back in February 2016, I installed Git-Bash on my Windows 7 computer\n> and everything worked great.
