Examples of commands run might be:\n   $ git clone https://github.com/openshift/mysql.git\n   $ git commit -m \"Initial commit\"\n\nIn order to view the individual components included in this collection, \nincluding additional conversion tools, you can run:\n   $ sudo yum list git19\\*\n\nAbout Software Collections\n--------------------------\nSoftware Collections give you the power to build, install, and use \nmultiple versions of software on the same system, without affecting \nsystem-wide installed packages. Each collection is delivered as a group \nof RPMs, with the grouping being done using the name of the collection \nas a prefix of all packages that are part of the software collection.\n\nThe collection git19 delivers version 1.9 of the git, fast, scalable and \ndistributed revision control system, plus additional conversion tools \nand plugins also available as RPMs.\n\nFor more on the Git, see https://git-scm.com.\n\nThe SCLo SIG in CentOS\n----------------------\nThe Software Collections SIG group is an open community group \nco-ordinating the development of the SCL technology, and helping curate \na reference set of collections. In addition to the Git collection being \nreleased here, we also build and deliver databases, web servers, and \nlanguage stacks including multiple versions of PostgreSQL, MariaDB, \nApache HTTP Server, NodeJS, Ruby, Python and others.\n\nSoftware Collections SIG release was announced at \nhttps://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-announce/2015-October/021446.html\n\nYou can learn more about Software Collections concepts at: \nhttp://softwarecollections.org\nYou can find information on the SIG at \nhttps://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup/SCLo ; this includes howto \nget involved and help with the effort.\n\nWe meet every second Wednesday at 16:00 UTC in #centos-devel (ref: \nhttps://www.centos.org/community/calendar), for an informal open forum \nopen to anyone who might have comments, concerns or wants to get started \nwith SCL's in CentOS.\n\nEnjoy!\n\nHonza\nSCLo SIG member\n"}]}
