This contains remaining fixes that are in v2.5 but have\nbeen lacking in 2.4.x maintenance track so far.  It will hopefully\nbe the last 2.4.x update at least for now.\n\nThe tarballs are found at:\n\n    https://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/\n\nThe following public repositories all have a copy of the 'v2.4.8'\ntag and some of them have the 'maint-2.4' branch that the tag\npoints at:\n\n  url = https://kernel.googlesource.com/pub/scm/git/git\n  url = git://repo.or.cz/alt-git.git\n  url = https://code.google.com/p/git-core/\n  url = git://git.sourceforge.jp/gitroot/git-core/git.git\n  url = git://git-core.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/git-core/git-core\n  url = https://github.com/gitster/git\n\n----------------------------------------------------------------\n\nGit v2.4.8 Release Notes\n========================\n\nFixes since v2.4.7\n------------------\n\n * Abandoning an already applied change in \"git rebase -i\" with\n   \"--continue\" left CHERRY_PICK_HEAD and confused later steps.\n\n * Various fixes around \"git am\" that applies a patch to a history\n   that is not there yet.\n\n * \"git for-each-ref\" reported \"missing object\" for 0{40} when it\n   encounters a broken ref.  The lack of object whose name is 0{40} is\n   not the problem; the ref being broken is.\n\n * \"git commit --cleanup=scissors\" was not careful enough to protect\n   against getting fooled by a line that looked like scissors.\n\nAlso contains typofixes, documentation updates and trivial code\nclean-ups.\n\n----------------------------------------------------------------\n\nChanges since v2.4.7 are as follows:\n\nJohannes Schindelin (2):\n      t3404: demonstrate CHERRY_PICK_HEAD bug\n      rebase -i: do not leave a CHERRY_PICK_HEAD file behind\n\nJunio C Hamano (1):\n      Git 2.4.8\n\nMichael Haggerty (4):\n      t6301: new tests of for-each-ref error handling\n      for-each-ref: report broken references correctly\n      read_loose_refs(): simplify function logic\n      read_loose_refs(): treat NULL_SHA1 loose references as broken\n\nPaul Tan (6):\n      am --skip: revert changes introduced by failed 3way merge\n      am -3: support 3way merge on unborn branch\n      am --skip: support skipping while on unborn branch\n      am --abort: revert changes introduced by failed 3way merge\n      am --abort: support aborting to unborn branch\n      am --abort: keep unrelated commits on unborn branch\n\nSZEDER Gábor (2):\n      completion: teach 'scissors' mode to 'git commit --cleanup='\n      commit: cope with scissors lines in commit message\n\nSebastian Schuberth (1):\n      clone: simplify string handling in guess_dir_name()\n"}]}
