However, when I look\nat the repository I see:\n\n$ ls -A\n.git  ___\n$\n\nThen when I cat the \"___\" file, I see:\n\n$ cat ___\nThis is a clone-in-progress GIT working tree containing a GIT repository\nin the .git subdirectory. If you see this file and noone is fetching or\ncloning in this repository, the clone has been interrupted; you can restart\nit by issuing this command (it's enough as-is):\n\n        cg-fetch\n$\n\n\nI give the \"cg-fetch\" command as instructed, but it seems to have no effect,\nand the \"___\" file remains unchanged.\n\nWhat is going on? I'm completely unable to clone a repository. I was able to reproduce this behavior using the tarballs that are\nused to start out a new user with git and cogito; as well as with the latest\nversion in the repository.\n\nBut I also thought the rsync deprecation was not really true. Wasn't that\ndiscussed here recently? I just realized cg-fetch will mkdir -p the .git/info/\ndirectory.\n\n  If the .git/info/ directory would be there after git-init-db, I\ncouldn't explain the\n\n\t/home/zbrown/git/cogito/cg-clone: line 137: .git/info/cg-fetch-earlydie: No such file or directory\n\nerror. I went into the git source directory, and ran \"make\". Nothing more.\n\nI've been doing that for a long time, whenever I sync with the repository. The first 2 commands worked fine. The third complained of\nduplicate files, and exited with an error.
