Ideally I'd like to use the prebuilt gcc eabi\ntoolchain bundled with Android NDK, since I plan to run the git\nexecutable on an ARM device running the android kernel.\n\nI've looked into the \"./configure --help\" documentation but nothing\nstrikes me as helpful for this. I also have relied heavily on Google\nsearching but again I'm hitting dead ends.\n\nI'm not an expert with Linux, so it would really help to have a set of\ninstructions that are detailed and easy to understand.\n\nHere is as far as I've gotten:\n\n1. Ran \"autoconf\" inside my git clone root.\n2. Ran \"./configure --prefix=/home/fe/git-arm --build=x86_64-linux-gnu\n--host=arm-linux-gnueabi\"\n3. Ran \"make\"\n4. Build fails because there is no OpenSSL.\n\nThen I began to wonder, do I need to cross compile OpenSSL, ZLib, and\nother things too? This is getting pretty messy :(\n\nNote that on step #2 I am using the gcc arm cross compiler from Ubuntu\npackage manager, because I couldn't for the life of me get the Android\nNDK toolchain working. I'm fine with using the ubuntu one as long as\nit yields an ARM executable that can be run on my device.\n\nOur device is ARM Cortex - A8, so I'm not sure what version of GCC ARM\nis compatible with this chip.\n\nThanks in advance for any help at all!!\n"}]}
