That isn't enabled by\ndefault (because it has no authentication at all). Did you enable it? If\nso, does the user running git-daemon have permission to write to the\nrepository?\n\nThe server notes that unpack-objects fails, but in older git versions\nthe stderr of unpack-objects does not get sent to the client. If your\ngit-daemon process is logging somewhere, you might check that log for\nmore details.\n\nSince v1.7.12.3, that output is sent over the sideband channel to the\nclient. So another option is to upgrade the version of git on the\nserver.\n\n> Can something be wrong with my git installation?\n> git --version\n> git version 1.8.3.2\n\nThat's your client version. The server version is older than that (in\nv1.7.12.3, the unpacker error message also dropped the \"n/a\" bit, so the\noutput above comes from a server older than that).\n\n-Peff\n"},{"id":"230112","messageId":"CALK6XSj3=_krX24nX+G1V7c8Wq42XfU0G0qZ0oTpzm7+=emx_A@mail.gmail.com","threadId":"35259","inReplyTo":"20131104230321.GA31503@sigill.intra.peff.net","subject":"Re: error: unpack failed: unpack-objects abnormal exit","fromName":"Sitesh Shrivastava","fromEmail":"siteshshrivastava@gmail.com","sentAt":"2013-11-05T07:46:38Z","receivedAt":"2013-11-05T07:46:38Z","isPatch":false,"sender":{"key":"siteshshrivastava@gmail.com","avatar":null},"body":"Thanks a lot for replying!\n\nThat exactly was the problem.
