This is an old breakage in v1.7.11.\n\n * Older cURL wanted piece of memory we call it with to be stable, but\n we updated the auth material after handing it to a call.\n\n * \"git pull\" into nothing trashed \"local changes\" that were in the\n index.\n\n * Many \"git submodule\" operations did not work on a submodule at a\n path whose name is not in ASCII.\n\n * \"cherry-pick\" had a small leak in its error codepath.\n\n * Logic used by git-send-email to suppress cc mishandled names like\n \"A U. Thor\" <author@example.xz>, where the human readable part\n needs to be quoted (the user input may not have the double quotes\n around the name, and comparison was done between quoted and\n unquoted strings). It also mishandled names that need RFC2047\n quoting.\n\n * \"gitweb\" forgot to clear a global variable $search_regexp upon each\n request, mistakenly carrying over the previous search to a new one\n when used as a persistent CGI.\n\n * The wildmatch engine did not honor WM_CASEFOLD option correctly.\n\n * \"git log -c --follow $path\" segfaulted upon hitting the commit that\n renamed the $path being followed.\n\n * When a reflog notation is used for implicit \"current branch\",\n e.g. \"git log @{u}\", we did not say which branch and worse said\n \"branch ''\" in the error messages.\n\n * Mac OS X does not like to write(2) more than INT_MAX number of\n bytes; work it around by chopping write(2) into smaller pieces.\n\n * Newer MacOS X encourages the programs to compile and link with\n their CommonCrypto, not with OpenSSL.\n\nAlso contains various minor documentation updates.\n\n----------------------------------------------------------------\n\nChanges since v1.8.3.2 are as follows:\n\nAndrew Pimlott (2):\n lib-rebase: document exec_ in FAKE_LINES\n t7500: fix flipped actual/expect\n\nAnthony Ramine (1):\n wildmatch: properly fold case everywhere\n\nBrandon Casey (1):\n http.c: don't rewrite the user:passwd string multiple times\n\nCharles McGarvey (1):\n gitweb: fix problem causing erroneous project list\n\nChris Rorvick (1):\n git.txt: remove stale comment regarding GIT_WORK_TREE\n\nClemens Buchacher (1):\n fix segfault with git log -c --follow\n\nDavid Aguilar (4):\n Makefile: fix default regex settings on Darwin\n Makefile: add support for Apple CommonCrypto facility\n cache.h: eliminate SHA-1 deprecation warnings on Mac OS X\n imap-send: eliminate HMAC deprecation warnings on Mac OS X\n\nDmitry Marakasov (1):\n contrib/git-subtree: Use /bin/sh interpreter instead of /bin/bash\n\nFelipe Contreras (4):\n read-cache: fix wrong 'the_index' usage\n read-cache: trivial style cleanups\n sequencer: remove useless indentation\n sequencer: avoid leaking message buffer when refusing to create an empty commit\n\nFilipe Cabecinhas (1):\n compate/clipped-write.c: large write(2) fails on Mac OS X/XNU\n\nFredrik Gustafsson (1):\n handle multibyte characters in name\n\nJeff King (1):\n pull: update unborn branch tip after index\n\nJohn Keeping (1):\n git-config: update doc for --get with multiple values\n\nJunio C Hamano (6):\n deprecate core.statinfo at Git 2.0 boundary\n t5551: do not use unportable sed '\\+'\n Documentation/diff-index: mention two modes of operation\n Start preparing for 1.8.3.3\n Update draft release notes to 1.8.3.3\n Git 1.8.3.3\n\nMichael S.
